MARCH - ALAN WALKER

ARTIST STATEMENT

I paint because I love the materials and process.

Recently determining that copying photographs no longer does it for me, and having no interest in becoming a plein air painter, hiring a model, or setting up a still-life, I’ve become an abstract painter.
Statements are useful if necessary for the viewer to comprehend what’s in front of them, but for the most part words are a terrible way to experience visual art. My paintings are far more eloquent than I am in telling their story.
