AUGUST - ALISON GOLDER

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is often inspired by the simple materials and objects that cross my path, and catch my eye, in everyday life.  These things draw me in with their quiet, humble beauty. My process of combining salvaged bits and pieces with one another, as well as with other materials, is a sort of hybrid between recycling, repurposing, and reimagining. I enjoy the interplay that occurs with the bringing together of sometimes seemingly incongruous materials and love breathing new life into what might otherwise be discarded or considered mundane.
